Caring for kids from hard places does not have to be a journey you take alone. There are others just like you who understand what the journey is like and are here to be a community of support for you.

At Foster Village, we help bring this community together and provide fellowship, camaraderie, relief and resources for foster, kinship, and adoptive parents who need to know they are not alone.

Friday, November 7th at 5:30pm at the Cape Coral HUB:

1510 SE 41st Terrace (you willl need to park across the street at First Cape Church).

Join us for a compassionate and informative session on sensory trauma - what it is, how it affects those we care for, and what caregivers can do to help.

Caring for a child with a history of trauma means navigating more than just emotion- it often includes understanding how the body responds to the world. This special first session will focus on sensory trauma - when ordinary sights, sounds, smells, or touches trigger distress due to past traumatic experiences.

Whether you're fostering toddlers, teens, or anywhere in between, this class will offer insight into how sensory trauma shows up in daily life and how you can respond with empathy and effective tools. You'll learn how to spot signs of sensory overload, create calming environments, and build trust through sensory-safe caregiving.

Come connect, learn, and grow alongside other foster families walking a similar path.

Dinner will be provided!
